San Bernardino County sheriff's Deputy Pedro Enciso, 32, who has worked for the department since July 2005, is on paid administrative leave.

"He is an employee of the department and there's an administrative investigation," said sheriff's spokeswoman Jodi Miller.

Miller said she was unable to comment further on the case because the deputy is protected under the Peace Officers Bill of Rights.
