Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Details are lacking but it is easy to speculate that the man found the cop with his wife and an angry exchange occurred. Perhaps the cop was her lover?

Sounds likely. Though, without more details, it's all speculation. Is the divorce currently hostile? Is there a custody battle taking place?

The main reason I ask is because my inner pessimist is posing the theory that the wife wanted to jam the husband up by convincing the cops that he was going to try and kidnap the kids. Cops come by to be sure, husband comes by to pick up the kids (which, from what I read, he had every right to) and gets taser'd while the wife 'protects' her children from her husband.

Of course, I am a horrible pessimist who always sees the worst-case scenario in everything I see. : /

I agree with Arad. When divorce is involved nothing is as simple as it appears on the surface. I sure hope though, that this poor guy wasn't tasered in front of his children. What a nasty memory for them.
