Ryan starts out by telling Randy that he seems too nice this year. He has not been very critical at all and not constructive. He is only slightly less a cheerleader than Paula.
Asia'h Epperson - She picked a pretty good song. She was a bit shaky at the start but settled into it well. Randy "I recorded that with Whitney, that was hot" Paula "You nailed it" Simon "It was second rate Whitney."

Kady Malloy - She picked a slow and dreary song. Not a good choice for someone needing to hit a home run. She sounded like someone singing a solo at church. The one that was 'almost' good enough for the next level. Randy "Very interesting song choice...pretty good" Paula "To date this was your best performance" Simon "Definitely better than last week...you are like a robot when you sing."
Grade C -
Amanda Overmyer - She insists on being the rocker chick. She likes to lean forward like she is on a bar singing down to the crowd. She has more talent that she is willing to demonstrate. This was one song that showed a flash of what she has. Randy "That is the bluesy rocker chick we loved" Paula "When you pick the right song..." Simon "If I am being honest, it was fantastic... great well done"

Carly Smithson - She has the big voice and knows how to use it. A good up tune for her. She has that touch of huskiness in her voice that reminds me a bit of Cher. She nailed the performance. Randy "You keep smashing it every week. Another great performance." Paula "You are like a dependable dog...they aren't enough adjectives" Simon "Its not a great song. You are better than that song. She could sing the phone book."

Kristy Lee Cook - She also picked a slow and sad song. She started out ok but went flat, then tried to shout the pitch up. She was searching for the pitch on the last run. Randy "Great song with a country feel, I sort of liked it." Paula "That could be a hit for you in Country Music" Simon "It was good to hear the Country influence... unfortunately you are forgetable"

Ramiele Malubay - She seemed a bit off from the start. Her pitch and tone support was off. It was another singing robot tonight. Randy "You seemed hesitant" Paula "You have such a beautiful face..." Simon "I thought it was old fashioned. I thought it was predictable."
Grade C+
Brooke White - She sang a decent enough song for her to make it. There were some pitch problems but it was okay overall. Randy "It was very interesting." Paula choreographed the Pat Benatar (who cares?) video. Simon says "It worked because you made it something different. Two weeks running you were amazing."

Syesha Mercado - She sang one of her bluesy songs which is in her wheelhouse. She was a little shaky in the middle but brought it home. Randy "Good" Paula "Good" Simon "Predictable, but good."

Early polls had Kady Malloy at 48%, Amanda Overmyer - 20%, Ramiele Malubay - 9% and Kristy Lee Cook - 9%. Amanda has dodged the bullet before, can she do it again? Kady slid by last time, it will not happen again. I am hoping Amanda stays but I do not hold out a lot of hope. Ramiele should hold on because of prior performances. Based on tonight - Kady and Kristy buh bye.
